HOW A TORNEX TWO-STAGE ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATOR WORKS
1. Air is drawn by a fan into the Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP)
2. Washable metal mesh pre-filter (#24 mesh) collects large particles
3. The remaining particles, some as small as 0.1 μm, pass into a Ionizing section (corona discharge area) where the particulate become positively charged.
4. The charged particles then pass into a collector plate section where positive aluminum plates and negative aluminum plates are alternately stacked at equal spaces. The positively charged particles are attracted toward negative plates by coulomb force in electric field.
Particles build up on the collector plates and form a layer. The layer does not collapse until washed, thanks to electrostatic pressure (given from layer resistivity, electric field, and current flowing in the collected layer.)
